My name is Natalie Oakes and I recently moved to Berlin from Washington, DC, where I’m continuing to pursue my interests in international security, diplomacy, and strategic communications.
I hold a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Global Studies from Colby College. My professional experience spans policy analysis, research, and communications at USAID, the U.S. Department of Defense, DSPolitical, and the Office of U.S. Senator Chris Murphy. This work has strengthened my analytical and writing skills, ability to distill complex policy issues into clear narratives, and understanding of U.S. and European security priorities.
I’m currently looking for opportunities in Berlin that connect my policy and communications experience with my interest in transatlantic cooperation.
